ii hikers were taken to the infirmary after they were attacked by a silvertip hold on a hiking shack near Prince George, B.C., on Sunday, according to officials.
B.C. Emergency Health Services said a critical care helicopter responded to the scene around 3 p.m. PT Sunday. Two patients were transported to the Prince George Airport, the service said, and then taken to the hospital by ground ambulance.
It said one patient was in critical condition and the other was stable.
The hikers were attacked in the McGregor Mountain area, northeast of Prince George, according to a Facebook post by the B.C. Conservation Officer Service (BCCOS).
It said trails in the area are closed while specialists investigate.
The BCCOS says it recommends hikers avoid the Pass Lake area.
