B.C. woman detained in Texas immigration facility could return home today, husband says

A  canadian river  fuss who has spent weeks detained at an in-migration readiness in  tx along with her seven-year-old daughter could be going home after a judge granted her bond.

Tania Warner's husband, Edward Warner, says a judge set the bond for his wife at $9,500 US.

Reached by phone on Tuesday, Warner says he was rushing to the bank to withdraw the money and that his wife could be back at their home in Kingsville, Texas, "today."

Tania Warner and her daughter Ayla were taken into custody on March 14 at a United States border patrol checkpoint in Texas after returning from a baby shower.

Warner, who is originally from Penticton, B.C., was going through the process to get a green card, which required her to spend thousands of dollars and undergo a criminal record check, but her husband says she kept her immigration paperwork up to date.

The mother and daughter were first held in a processing centre in McAllen, Texas, after their apprehension, but were later transferred to an immigrant detention centre for families in the state.
