The prime minister will face questions on a range of topics, largely connected to Trump.
The president's threat to take control of Greenland, disinvitation of Canada from his Board of Peace and false claims about NATO troops in Afghanistan will all be on the table. It's likely Carney will also be questioned about his own Plains of Abraham remarks.
Prime Minister Mark CArney is set to take questions from the media for the first time since delivering that widely acclaimed speech in Davos, Switzerland, earlier this week.
Carney used that speech to deliver a blunt assessment of the current world order. While not naming U.S. President Donald Trump, he called out powers who use "economic integration as weapons" and "tariffs as leverage."
It drew reaction from Trump and other senior U.S. Officials. In his own speech in Davos the following day, Trump suggested Carney — and Canada — should be grateful.
"Canada lives because of the United States," Trump said.
Carney fired back in a nearly 30-minute address Thursday at the start of a two-day cabinet meeting in Quebec City.
"Canada doesn't live because of the United States. Canada thrives because we are Canadian," he said.
